The first 60 days of 2020 are over. I predict this year to be full of surprises. Not in regards to my personal growth. I still don’t know where I’m heading. And I’m still facing my daily challenges like our water pump that stopped working leaving us with a house with no water. Things in the jungle are not as easy as in a city where your water magically appears when you open the tap. You are responsible for your own shit. So when your water stops and your baby has poo on her you need to find a solution quickly or enjoy the smell.

But outside of my little war zone things are also evolving. This year will be the year of tremendous change I believe. Coronavirus is creating so much fear that countries are closing their borders, the U.S. election will happen this year and I’m sure 2020 will be filled with lots more. Maybe a financial crisis if we get lucky.

But let’s not focus on what may or may not happen. We still all (I hope so) have around 300 days left to make things happen. Be happy and meditate. Every day is a new opportunity. If you are having a bad day, remember that there’s a new one tomorrow.

Now let’s jump right into my goals/habits.

February, a review

February was a shorter month with only 29 days. Nonetheless a fun one. Some surprises as expected. Some more admin work. And a broken car. I guess every month will bring its fair share of surprises.

If you’d like to review my previous goals, here they are.

Relationships

My goal was to go on 3 “micro” dates with my dear wife. “Micro” was an easy way for me to make this task easier to achieve, since having young kids make things more complicated. Well it was not as easy as expected. When our kids go to bed, between 7 and 8pm, Marine, usually falls asleep with them. And if I’m around and a kid sleeps, you can be sure that the other one is not. It’s like they are doing it on purpose. In the end, I suppose we did manage to spend some quality time together and have nice chats though.

Verdict: More talks, stronger relationship.

Health & Fitness

Beware guys, I’m becoming a superhuman. I’m proud to announce that I did manage to successfully do 15 push-ups a day. A strong feat. I still feel weak though. Probably due to my vegan diet. I need more proteins. Gotta buy more tofu and eat more beans.

I can’t say that push-ups are fun. They are not. But I still do them. I need to tick that box on my habit app.

Now in regards to my mushroom experiment, I’ll publish the report soon. It went well but it wasn’t as crazy / incredible as I thought it would be.

Verdict: I’m becoming a strongman!

Soul & Mind

Another month in which I meditated, wrote and read every single day. So far I’m 63 days in a row and hope to keep up doing so.

Since I’ve started tracking in early September 2019 I’ve meditated 182 times, read and wrote 179 days. I’m fairly happy with my consistency. I would have never expected to keep up this long.

In February, I only read one book. A longer one. A good one.
