My Fight Against Leishmaniasis And How I Knocked It Out!

Dark Light

Well I’ve said I would post no later than the 5th, but here I am again posting late. It’s the 7th though. I’m getting better. I don’t why, but it’s been not too easy to write for me lately. I don’t have a high level of motivation at the moment. A lot is going on right now on every front.

Yesterday, Elon’s nose became red again. I really hope his flesh-eating parasite, leishmaniasis, is not trying to get back his resident status. It’s really demoralizing as I don’t want to go through this whole thing again.

Anyway, I hope you are fine on your side. Still surfing on the COVID-19 wave. Waiting for things to change. Either for the best or the worst. We will see. It’s crazy to think that we’re already in August. It seems like we should just skip 2020 and move on to 2021.

The cases of COVID-19 are still increasing in Costa Rica. We now have new restrictions but they change depending on where you are located. We can enjoy the beach till 2:30pm. The virus likes to sleep-in late.

We also had to get rid of our employees at the coworking as the activity is pretty slow and we can manage the flux ourselves. At least we have Kombucha!

I don’t know about you, but the more we move forward, the more uncertain things look. I’m more confused than ever and don’t really know what I want to do anymore. I do like working online though even if it’s not earning me anything right now.

Elon, my son, will turn 4 this Sunday and he decided that he does enjoy going to school after all. Some good news for us as he’s there from 8am to 12pm. That leaves some time to Marine (my wife), to breathe. Parenthood ain’t easy, but it’s the safest way to fund your pension. Hopefully he’ll follow Elon Musk’s footsteps, but instead of aiming for Mars, he’ll aim for Jupiter.

Now to my goals…

July, a review

Have a look at my goals for July, it’ll help me get more pageviews.

Relationships

My goal was to call my friend Ben. It was already my goal in June but I failed to do so. Well I’m happy to announce that I’ve called him. On the very last day of July. Luckily for me, he answered. And if you are wondering, he’s fine despite the situation being difficult for him as a comedian (no work).

Verdict: I’ve made the call!

Health & Fitness

My goal was to eat a gluten-free diet and pursue my love for push-ups with 40 a day. I’ve achieved both tasks without missing a day.

Eating gluten-free helps with digestion, but is quite hard for me. It’s difficult to snack or buy something gluten-free if you feel hungry. No empanadas, no sandwiches, no nothing. Just rice and bananas. Marine said I’ve lost a ton of weight. Maybe I did a bit as I don’t think I’ve eaten enough. I won’t get far with rambutans as they each have 7 calories. And I haven’t had any alcohol in June and July. I had no way to balance with delicious, ice-cold craft beer. Yes, I miss quality beer. But hey, I have my kombucha…

Verdict: Up and down I go. 40 times per day.

Soul & Mind

Here’s where I’m losing a bit of traction. Especially on the reading bit. I think know it’s due to us getting fiber optics. What can I say, the internet is highly addictive. Soooo many cat videos to watch. Here’s a gift to you, a 10 hour cat video compilation.

You’re welcome.

In July, I’ve meditated 29 days, I’ve written 30 days and I’ve read 23 days. Not too bad except for the reading bit. I need to get back up to speed with it. For that I’ve designed the ultimate goal. You’ll see in a bit.

It’s the first month of the year, I haven’t finished a book.

Verdict: Hmm. So so.

Business

Business-wise, I didn’t set any goals but I’m quite happy with how things are evolving. I’m getting more than 50 visitors a day on my digital nomad blog and we may sell a property with Gyvas. I’m still unsure if the transaction will go through though. If it does, it means that we would have sold a property online, without meeting the buyer, without the buyer visiting the house and without meeting the owner. That would be an incredible feat!

Now to my goals for the month. One priority is to design goals to get rid of bad habits and back on track with reading.

Relationships

  • Celebrate Elon’s 4th birthday
It will be the main event of the month. In 2 days, Elon will turn 4 and we’ll have a big birthday party on the beach with all his friends. I’m really looking forward to all the shouting and crying. But I’ll add some Xanax to the cake and things should go smoothly.

Health & Fitness

  • 45 push-ups a day
When will I stop you may be asking? Well, I don’t know. All I do is simply adding 5 every month. Isn’t that how compound interest works? Maybe it’ll compound my muscles.
  • Learn how to do a handstand
I’m unsure about this one as I’m a bit late with it but my objective is to be able to do a handstand by the end of the month.

Soul & Mind

  • Daily Meditation
  • Daily Reading
  • Daily Writing
  • One week social media detox
I’ll try to avoid all social media for seven days, except for Whatsapp as I need it for business purposes.

Business

I’ll leave the business goal open for this month again. I keep on working on my websites and see where it’ll lead me.

And you? Any goals for August? I’d love to hear!
